Well suited to the warm, moist conditions and filtered sun of the understory in tropical and subtropical rainforests, these plants are ideally suited for partial shade or filtered sun locations. These trees flourish underneath the protective canopy of larger trees which provide shade and protection. As some of these plants naturally mature, they emerge from the protective cover of the understory, becoming well-suited for a more exposed, full-sun position.
